Standards Subcommittee

Mission and Vision

The VISION of the Standards Subcommittee is to provide Canadian Emergency providers with clinical guidance documents and other relevant work that supports the delivery of the highest possible quality of care for patients.

This vision supports the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) vision — “Defining standards for quality Emergency Care” — by reviewing, approving and disseminating these standards documents to the CAEP membership.

The MISSION of the Standards Subcommittee is to ensure, through a process of structured review, that CAEP documents related to standards and other CAEP activities reflect current knowledge or consensus and to provide recommendations to the CAEP Board on the endorsement of clinical guidelines and practice guidance documents from outside organizations.

Submission of Documents for Endorsement

The CAEP Standards Subcommittee aims to provide emergency care providers with clinical guidance documents to support the delivery of the highest possible quality of care for patients. Through a process of structured review, we aim to ensure that CAEP supported documents reflect the most up-to-date current knowledge or consensus opinions on areas relevant to the practice of emergency medicine.

We are currently accepting Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and Best Practice Statements for review and consideration of formal CAEP endorsement.
