Why did you choose to be a part of Global EM?

I was always interested in living and practicing outside Canada in different settings. Since getting involved in the field, I am particularly drawn to capacity building and education – partnering to help improve EM resources in places that are just getting started in the field.

Why did you choose to be a part of Global EM?

Global EM projects offer the opportunity to exchange knowledge with our international partners and learn more about emergency care in various resource settings. As emergency physicians, we have a vast skill set and so coupling this with Global EM offers a greater impact beyond borders, personal/professional growth through fostering international relationships and learning global best practices.

Why did you choose to be a part of Global EM?

Emergency medicine is the true front line—all patients, no matter what their background, are accepted and treated with the utmost of care. I am passionate about this sentiment, and am ecstatic to be a part of a group that extends this globally. More than that, in working with emergency physicians worldwide, we can learn so much from each other. Global EM is the epitome of learning best practices and caring for all!

Why did you choose to be a part of Global EM?

I have been working in the ER for the past 2 years as a medical scribe, which is what first got me interested in emergency medicine. However what truly draws me to Global EM is the ability to provide frontline, lifesaving care to people all around the world. Being able to share our knowledge across various countries and invest that information back into our communities is what medicine is all about.

Why did you choose to be a part of Global EM?

Global health concerns itself with the needs and care of the most vulnerable in society and shares many common goals with emergency medicine. I wanted to surround myself with a community of like-minded peers and work towards promoting global health in EM.

Why did you choose to be a part of Global EM?

Global EM sparked my interest because as someone who wishes to pursue EM as a future career, I wish to pursue it without borders. I am eager to learn more about how we can help spread our knowledge beyond Canada and give back to underserved populations. I am also a part of a Global Health podcast group which releases podcasts on global issues and has further fueled my passion for Global EM.
