Rob Woods

Lead Speaker

Rob Woods (he/him) was born and raised on the Canadian prairies. He is a husband to an amazing mother and Pediatrician, father of 2 teenagers, dog owner to Gary and an enthusiastic but mediocre wannabe athlete. He is a Professor of Emergency Medicine, working clinically in the Adult & Pediatric Emergency Departments and as a Transport Physician for STARS Air Ambulance in Saskatoon, SK. He is the Clinician Education Diploma Program Director at the University of Saskatchewan, co-research director in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Decision Editor for CJEM. He served a 13-year term as the co-founder and inaugural program director for the Royal College EM program in Saskatchewan. He has received several local and national teaching awards.

Jutamas Saoraya

Speaker

Jutamas Saoraya is from Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated from a medical school and an emergency medicine residency at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok before pursuing a fellowship in adult critical care medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto. She holds the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC) from the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, a PhD in Clinical Sciences from Chulalongkorn University, and is completing a MSc in Community Health in Health Practitioner Teacher Education from the University of Toronto. She is an Assistant Professor at Chulalongkorn University, a core team member of the Chulalongkorn University Medical International Program (CU-MEDi), and an emergency physician at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society, Bangkok. In her free time, she enjoys drinking tea and spending time with her lovely dog.

Vincent Poirier

Leader, Speaker

Vincent Poirier completed an Emergency Medicine residency followed by a Fellowship in Aviation Medicine, including time spent with Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society in Alberta and the Canadian Forces where he received his Flight Surgeon and Hyperbaric Medicine certifications. He also trained with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Southern California Safety Institute in Aircraft Accident Investigation. He is a Medical Examiner for Transport Canada and Senior Medical Advisor for Air Canada & Air Transat. He is Associate Professor at McGill University, Program Director of the FRCP-EM residency, and an Emergency Physician at the McGill University Health Centre.

Robert Primavesi

Leader, Speaker

Rob Primavesi is Associate Chair Education for the Department of Emergency Medicine at McGill University. He is Chair of the Committee on Examinations for Emergency Medicine at the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP). He is an active contributor to continuing professional development, postgraduate and undergraduate medical education. He was named to the McGill Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence, presented with the student Osler Award for Outstanding Teaching, is a recipient of the CFPC Jim Ruderman Academic Family Medicine Leadership Award and the CAEP President’s Award.  In his spare time, Rob is an avid traveller, adventurer, and whitewater rafting guide.
