CAEP is proud to join forces with ECG-U to offer two exceptional, high-impact learning experiences in emergency cardiac care.
Offered virtually, the ACS and Friends and ECGU-911 Workshops are a must-attend for anyone looking to elevate their cardiac care practice.
ACS & Friends
This highly acclaimed, hands-on workshop equips healthcare professionals with the skills to confidently diagnose and manage acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and their mimics. Through expert-led ECG interpretation, real-world case reviews, and evidence-based clinical strategies, participants gain practical tools to improve outcomes in ischemic cardiac emergencies. Whether you’re an emergency physician, resident, nurse, or paramedic, this course offers a deep dive into the latest thinking on Occluded Myocardial Infarction (OMI), ACS mimics, and high-risk ECG patterns — all in a collaborative and engaging format.
Offered virtually, the ACS and Friends Workshop is a must-attend for anyone looking to elevate their cardiac care practice.
Course registration includes:
Training workbook in .pdf format
Full reference slides
Full correction slides of all ECGs and Cases
Rapid ECGU Reference for ACS
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this full-day, hands-on ECG-based workshop, participants will:
Recognize ACS effectively and safely, with or without ST elevation, including the latest concepts in Occluded Myocardial Infarction (OMI).
Apply a full differential for conditions that mimic ACS on ECG: pericarditis, early repolarization, pulmonary embolism (PE), left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), and much more.
Accurately diagnose with all the clinical tools and treat ACS and pericarditis according to the most up-to-date guidelines for ST+ and ST- cases.
Sample Agenda:
08:00 to 08:55 ECG Diagnosis of NSTE-ACS
09:00 to 09:55 Full Clinical Approach to Chest Pain and ACS in the ED
10:05 to 11:00 Malignant vs Benign ACS-like ECGs
11:05 to 12:00 ECG Diagnosis of Acute MI (HATW, STE, ST-Mirror, etc.)
12:00 to 13:00 LUNCH
13:00 to 13:50 Full Clinical Approach to Acute MI in the ED
13:55 to 14:45 “Don’t Miss” Acute MI ECGs (Posterior, RV, Paced, Bundle Branch Block, etc.)
14:55 to 15:45 ECG Diagnosis of Pericarditis and Early Repolarization
15:50 to 16:40 Full Clinical Approach to Pericarditis in the ED
ECGU-911
Offered virtually, the ECGU-911 Workshop is a high-impact and fully interactive learning experience in critical cardiac emergencies.
Designed by and for emergency physicians and acute care clinicians, this full-day interactive workshop focuses on the unstable, high-risk, and easily missed cardiac presentations that can deteriorate quickly in the ED. From acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock to malignant arrhythmias, syncope, some internal defibrillator-related emergencies, and post-cardiac arrest care, this course is built for real-world emergency practice.
Through expert-led ECG interpretation, real-life case-based clinical reasoning, and evidence-informed treatment strategies, participants will sharpen their ability to recognize life-threatening patterns early, prioritize the right differential, and act decisively when minutes matter. This is practical emergency cardiology for the crashing — or at risk — patient.
Course registration includes:
Training workbook in .pdf format with high-quality ECGs and real-life cases
Full reference of all content and key management algorithms
Full correction slides of all ECGs and Cases
Rapid ECGU Pocket Reference for critical cardiac emergencies
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this interactive ECG- and case-based workshop, the participant will:
Safely diagnose and manage acute heart failure
Accurately risk-stratify patients presenting with syncope
Recognize and manage two critical diagnoses: Brugada syndrome and long QT with or without torsades
Apply best-practice approaches to cardiogenic shock and post–cardiac arrest care
Establish an optimal diagnosis and management plan for patients with wide-QRS tachycardia, including implanted defibrillator multiple shocks
Determine appropriate investigation and treatment strategies for patients with aortic dissection
